Professional Cinema Projectors

 

We use the same projectors as used by many of Hollywood's Movie Studios and professional grading suites when colour grading movies.

 

These give the ultimate in picture quality possible. They are designed and warrantied for 24 x 7 x 365 operation - reliability can be taken for granted.

 

The ultimate picture quality and superb pixel for pixel accuracy of these projectors is why they are used heavily in multi-million pound flight and military simulators and planetariums.

 

 

Post Production - D65 Calibration as Standard

 

 

When producing the latest Hollywood blockbuster movies, image quality is everything.

 

We use the same specialist projectors as many film studios and post production houses where absolute accuracy and picture quality is paramount.

 

These are calibrated in the factory for D65 colour and white balance - the professional standard  -  giving the best sense of reality and colour reproduction possible.

 

Our F90, F85, F35 and F32 projectors are often used in cinema and colour grading of films, high end editing and screening suites.

 

 

 

Military & Scientific Quality Imaging Chips

 

 

The extra large DLP chips used in our projectors are of such a high quality they cost more than most complete projectors.

 

For the ultimate picture quality, screen size, vibrant colours, contrast and brightness technically possible we use 3-chip DLP technology in our highest end installations,

 

e.g. F82 and F85 projectors giving upto 11,000 D65 calibrated lumens. 3-chip DLP is renowned for producing formidable on-screen images, as it uses three DMD® (Digital Micro Mirror Device) imagers for strongly saturated and accurate colours.

Full Resolution 3D

No Flicker  No Crosstalk  No Headaches

 

Our active 3D projectors are specially selected for their unique ability to display full 1080P to each eye.

 

- Without the flicker or crosstalk which cause eye fatigue and headaches.

 

 

Most 3D displays do not give the full 1080P image to each eye, instead giving an interlaced image which drops half of the resolution to each eye.

 

Our professional projectors utilise the latest in high speed 120Hz video processors and electronics.

 

This enables them to display an astounding 60 Full Resolution Images to each eye per second.

 

Hence eye strain is reduced or banished altogether.

 

 

 

Black Screen Technology

 

The latest advance in technology is the use of black screens.

 

They give the ultimate in picture quality, as good as the best plasma and LED TVs  -  yet far larger and lower power consumption.

 

They are fully viewable in full daylight. Sizes are up to 6.1m wide and 3.2m high.

 

 

 

Daylight Projection Screens

 

We manufacture special screens which look similar to giant plasma TVs.

 

These are grey in colour and give a very watchable picture in daylight - which before has never been possible.

State of The Art Processing and Electronics

 

 

We use projectors specially chosen for their highly advanced signal processing with double the input bandwidth of any competing projector - whilst outputting full image detail and accuracy without artefacts.

 

There are four processors inside these high end projectors enabling

- Very high performance video scaling, de-interlacing and image processing

 

You can be assured of the best quality picture possible and no need for a separate video processor.

 

Our screens produce full 1080P resolution at 120Hz and display fully uncompressed 3D at full resolution, unlike other projectors and TVs.

 

Plus adjustable Smear Reduction Processing that reduces motion artefacts in high-speed imaging – yet another key feature for simulation, sports, games and visualization applications.

 

 

 

DynamicBlack TM

 

 

The F82 and F85 series features unmatched imaging dynamics amongst large venue projectors. The unique DynamicBlack functionality automatically adapts to the input histogram of the image, and adjusts so that image output contrast is maximised at any one point in time. This creates much more dynamic imaging, and a more involving experience.

 

If Dynamic Black functionality is not desired, the user can manually adjust the IRIS and other settings to match a constant, desired output level, with contrast up to 15 000 : 1, and brightness levels to match that of the desired screen size requirement.

 

 

 

Revolutionary Colour Performance

- Optical Colour Processing Technology

 

 

By combining fixed and motorised optical filters for each colour channel, red, green, and blue, the projector can be optically calibrated with near infinite accuracy. It also means that by the flick of a switch, you can change the projected colour gamut from standard computer graphics optimised, to comply with for instance REC709 (High

Definition programming)

 

All this without any loss of bit depth, as the compensation is purely optical, and not electronic. Unlike competing projectors, where colour calibration is based upon a simple yellow notch filter to change the green point of the picture, or simply by changing electronic values, ACOP gives vastly superior performance on all important levels.

Professional DLP projectors give the reliability we are looking for  - proven to be the most reliable of all microdisplays, not degrading when subjected to UV light.

 

Unlike competing technologies, showing severe image quality degradation after only a few thousand hours

 - No degradation in image quality, even after hundreds of thousands of hours or more than 5 years of 24 x 7 use !

 

 

Bright Vibrant Dynamic Images

 

 

All of our projectors use two UHP lamps rather than one normal lamp. Two ultra high power lamps give a far brighter and dynamic image than people have ever seen from a large screen 120+" display.

 

The brightness ranges from 2,900 ANSI lumens (D65 calibrated for movies and critical TV viewing, upto 7,500 lumens uncalibrated) on our medium size projectors

- Up to to 11,000 ANSI lumens (D65 calibrated) on our 3 chip models.

 

This raw power of very high ANSI lumens gives a very dynamic and vibrant image - more like plasma or LED TVs than a projector.

 

To understand what this means, high end domestic projectors normally range from 500 to only 1,000 ANSI lumens when D65 calibrated.

 

The higher output often advertised by domestic manufacturers are for uncalibrated - "high brightness" modes  -  producing very unnatural colours with a very electronic and artificial looking picture.

 

 

 

Precision Projection Lenses

 

 

The next most crucial component is the optical system. We use a wide range of custom designed, precision projection lenses for the best image quality, and the most reliable setups.

 

To this end we use very high resolution lenses designed for 2.5k resolution 4.1 mega pixels i.e. double the pixels of 1080P resolution.

 

Again the cost of these lenses being more than most projectors.

 

Key features include infinitely adjustable IRIS and aperture settings, and motorized zoom, focus and lens shift with profile memories for use in multiple settings and installations with programmed calibration and screen configurations.

 

Most importantly, every single lens uses Low Dispersion (LD) glass and aspherical lens elements for high quality focusing, high optical interfield contrast and above all excellent sharpness

- For unsurpassed image clarity and incredible detail.

 

Unlike many competing projector ranges, the lenses are designed and made with 2.5k high resolution in mind, not taking standard, off the shelf lenses for use in normal high performance applications.
